Insight is a SunGard Bi-Tech application used to access database and administrative screens of Anderson University's information system.
[edit] Troubleshooting
The following guide can be used when the Bi-Tech System Catalog Selection Screen shows up instead of the usual Connection Manager, in either insight or CDD.
[edit] System Catalog Selection Screen
After trying to load insight, the Bi-Tech System Catalog Selection Screen shows up instead of the usual Connection Manager.
If the option syscat is available, highlight the option called syscat and click select
At the connection manager, click Edit and then uncheck the option Prompt for system catalog. If the selection is already unchecked, leave the settings alone.
[edit] Setting Up Syscat
Use the follow steps to recreate syscat if the option does not appear on the list of selectable options.
From the System Catalog Selection Screen click on new.
Select system data source, then click next.
Select the Bi-Tech OpenLink 5.1 Driver, then click next.
Confirm your select by clicking next.
Enter the name as syscat, and the Server as franz.anderson.edu, click next.
Select the domain Oracle 9x, and enter syscat into the database, NET9 service name should be left blank. Enter the appropriate login information and click next to continue.
Check Defer-fectching of long data and click next.
Confirm all your settings and click finish.
Enter the appropriate password and click OK
Remember to uncheck the Prompt for system catalog option to prevent syscat selection from showing up again.
